A good breakfast can make your day more awesome.
But sometimes you just don’t have time to spend hours to make your breakfast nutritious and delicious!
So, if you’ve been looking for healthy breakfast ideas that save you time?
Here are some quick and easy breakfast options for you to try.
Overnight oats take a few minutes to put together the night before, but they can save you time.
In the morning, you can eat it straight away, or pop it in the microwave for a minute if it’s cold outside.
You simply have to combine these ingredients below.
- Fruit of choice
- Nuts and seeds of choice
- Milk of choice
- Any flavour you like – think cinnamon, nutmeg, cocoa or coconut flakes
To prepare this breakfast, pop the ingredients into a container in the fridge and leave it to soak overnight.
PS – looking for an even lazier option than above?
You can simply soak your oats overnight with some Super Cubes plus your milk of choice and it’ll be ready for breakfast and save you even more time in the morning.
Like overnight oats, chia pudding is easy to put together and leave in the fridge overnight ready for breakfast the next morning.
You can also make chia pudding in bulk, so you have 3-4 serves ready to go saving you even more time.
How’s chia pudding made?
Your basic chia pudding is made by soaking chia seeds in liquid such as milk, almond mylk or coconut water.
You can even soak it in yoghurt if you prefer it thicker.
To make your chia pudding tasty, you’ll want to add in some extra flavours to the mix.
This means you can add fruit, nuts, seeds, spices or other flavours such as cocoa to give flavour to your chia pudding mix.
Hot tip – If you’re not a fan of the bumpy texture of soaked chia seeds, it’ll only take and extra 30 seconds in the morning to blend your chia pudding before serving.
Muffins do take a little longer to put together.
But you can make several breakfasts in one go, so it ends up being a time-saver over your week.
There are different breakfast muffin options – you can go sweet or savoury.
My favourite savoury muffins are egg muffins and here’s my secret muffin recipe for you.
Add an egg to each muffin tray cup and stir through some chopped vegetables and herbs.
You can also add some chopped bacon or ham.
Then bake at 180 degrees Celcius until cooked through, and this week’s breakfast is ready to go.
If you prefer a bit more of a sweet breakfast option, you can make these quinoa or oat muffins.
Mix oats or cooked quinoa with some applesauce or mashed banana added in.
Then add in your favourite fruit and spices, then bake the breakfast muffins at 180 degrees Celsius until firm.
Yoghurt and muesli
This one only takes a few minutes to prepare in advance.
In the morning and it will take you 30 seconds to put it all together!
Keep a stash of your favourite yoghurt – dairy, soy, almond and coconut yoghurt are the most popular options.
Then blend together your favourite nuts and seeds with some oats or quinoa flakes.
You can also mix in some cinnamon and nutmeg if you like your spices.
Store this muesli mix in an airtight container ready for your week’s breakfasts.
Then each morning just serve out your yoghurt and your muesli, and mix them together.
Breakfast is ready!
